Transcription

Robert Y. Write. This is my last will & testament. I now will my land to my two boys. I want it to be equally divided between them. I want Samuel Gossett to sell property enough to pay all my just debts. I then will all the balance of my property to my wife Elizabeth Wright during her widowhood & if she marries, I then want my property all sold & equally divided among all my children. I want the boys to help maintain their mother & sister. This the 9” day of December 1844.

This day Jacob Gossett & Samuel Gossett made oath before me, John Campbell, a justice of the peace for Muhlenberg County, that the above is the will of Robert Y. Wright while he lay on his death bed & wish them to have it attended to. Given under my hand this 14” day of December 1844.

The foregoing writing purporting to be the nuncupative will of Robert Y. Wright, deceased, was exhibited into court by the witnesses thereto, which being examined by the court & proved to be the act & deed of the said Wright by the oaths of Jacob Gossett, Samuel Gossett & Lewis Watkins, the subscribing witnesses thereto, which is thereupon admitted to & truly recorded.
