Will of Thomas Gaines

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Gaines of Green County State of Kentucky calling to mind the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life and being advanced in age I do make this my last will and testament in which I make the following distribution of the estate which it  has pleased God to bless me being in perfect health and of sound mind and memory,

Item #1 I wish all my just debts to be payed  as it may be convenient after my decease.

Item #2 I give to my Daughter Mary Miller Catharine H. Roach James H. Gaines and John P. Gaines each five dollars to be paid to them as soon as convenient after my decease.

Item #3 I give to my son Richard Gaines who is living in Virginia one thousand dollars to be paid him in twelve months after my death.

Item #4 I give to my son Thomas H. Gaines Francis Gaines the land between the line of Robert H. Gaines and the River supposed to be seventy five acres to be equally divided between them.

Item#5 I give to son Robert H. Gaines the tract of land on which I now live supposed to be three hundred and forty acres to begin at a poplar corner near the corner of John White's fence thence to a beech corner marker (illeg) W thence to a corner near Thomas H. Gaineses Spring which was  (ilegible) old line with all the residue of my estate both real and personal  and I hereby appoint Robert H. Gaines executor to this my last will and testament in testimony I have set my hand seal this the twentyth day of April Eighteen hundred and Forty three in presents of

Will produced in County Court on 19th Febry 1844.
