William Hogeland enters 200 acres of land upon Certificate No. 23, granted by the Commissioners. Lying on the South side of Green River.
Beginning at the bank of said river at a locust and elm
Thence, Running down the river nearly to the lower end of the bottom
Thence, running across the bottom nearly W
Thence, running along the side of the hill nearly S so then to the beginning

Step 1: WARRANT - SURVEY #33, SOUTH OF GREEN RIVER

To the Surveyor of Green County:
    We do hereby certify that William Hogelang is entitled to Two Hundred acres of Land, which he claimed under the act of Assembly entitled "An act for the relief of the Settlers on the South Side of Green River," located as follows:

    Lying on the south side of Green River
Beginning at the bank of said River at a Locust and Elm
    Thence running down the river nearly to the lower end of the bottom,
    Thence running across the bottom nearly West,
    Thence running along the side of the hill near South
    So then to the beginning.

Given under our hands this Third Day of June, 1796

Step 3: SURVEY #33, SOUTH OF GREEN RIVER

Surveyed for William Hoglang, One Hundred & Seven acres of Land, in Green County, by Virtue of a Certificate granted by the Commissioners, No 23 entered the 14th of July 1796.

    Lying on the South Side of Green River,
    Beginning on the Bank of said river at Elm & Locust,
    Running down the river N18 E, 40 poles to Elm & Sycamore
    N 19 W, 68 poles to Elm on the bank of the river,
    Thence S 69 W, 80 poles to White Oak,
    Thence S 10 W, 90 poles to a beech in Nathan Austin's line,
    Thence, with his line S 17 E, 94 poles crossing a branch to the Corner @ Ash,
    Thence, continuing the same course 20 poles to Ash & Red Bud,
    Thence, East, 38 poles to Hickory on bank of the river,
    Thence down the river N 13 E, 125 poles to the Beginning.

Step 4: GRANT, SOUTH OF GREEN RIVER #33, BOOK 1, PGE 33:

James Garrard esq., Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to all whom there Present shall come Greeting Know Ye, that by virtue and in consideration of a Certificate No 23, Granted by the State of Kentucky for the relief of Settlers on the South Side of the Green River agreeable to an act of Assembly passed in the year 1795. There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto William Hogland a certain tract or parcel of land Containing One Hundred and Seven Acres by survey bearing date the 28th day of July 1796. Lying and being in Green County on the South Side of Green River and bounded as followeth, Towit:

    Beginning on the bank of said river at an Elm & Locust,
    Running down the river, North 18 East, 40 poles to an Elm and Sycamore
    North 19 West, 68 poles to an Elm on the bank of the river
    Thence, South 69 West, 80 poles to a White Oak
    South 10 West, 90 poles to a Beech in Nathan Austin's line
    Thence, with his line, South 17 East, 94 poles crossing a branch to the corner @ Ash.
    Thence, Continuing the same course 20 poles to an Ash and Red Bud,
    Thence, East 38 poles to a Hickory on the bank of the River
    North 13 East 125 poles to the Beginning


With its Appurtenances, To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William Hogland and his Heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said James Garrard Esq., Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the 30th day of May Anio Domini 1797 and of the Commonwealth the Fifth.
