LECOMPTE and JACKSON surnames in Henry County, ca 1799 to 1820s. Frances LECOMPTE was born 25 Nov 1799 in Henry Co,KY. We do not have her parents names. We know Frances married Amos JACKSON, b.8 May 1798 in SC, in abt 1819. We have name of one child, John JACKSON B.1821. Amos JACKSON and Frances LECOMPTE lived most of their lives in Ripley Co,IN, Amos died there in 1865, Frances in 1875. We also know both families were Catholic. We want to contact anyone doing research in Henry Co, KY (or area) who have or recognize these names.

GALBREATH: Wish to corresp. with anyone researching this family in Henry or Shelby Co., KY. John GALBREATH's Will proven 18 Aug 1800 in Allegheny Co., PA. Wife: Agnes. Children: William, James, David, Martha, Elizabeth, Jean, John, Samuel, Mary, Sarah, Robert, Agnes, Thomas, Rebecca and Rachel. Wife, Agnes died in Henry Co., KY, as did son William (1822) and dau. Martha (md Elijah SUTTON). The other children mostly migrated north into Indiana, c1805-1815. John is probably from Newtownstewart (parish of Ardstraw), Co. Tyrone, Ireland. Some Indiana county history sketches indicate he was from Scotland - may have been born in Scotland, but migrated to the U.S. via Co. Tyrone, Ireland. I have quite a bit on this family in KY and IN, and would enjoy sharing what I have. Also, interested in hearing from others who might have more info.!

William BULLOCK b. 1815 Sullivan Co. Tennessee, moved to Henry Co. Ky. and married Phebe Malin of Henry Co., April 4, 1842. He engaged in farming and blacksmithing, having 111 acres in cultivation. Children born to this couple were: John, Henry, Isa c M., Charles W. and Levi J.

Searching for HIGH Families, descendants of John HIGH of Prince George Co., VA and of John HIGH, Jr., b ca 1717, died in 1777 in Wake Co, NC. His son Robert had a son William who moved 1st to Smith Co.,TN and they resided in Caldwell Co., KY and his sister Amanda Elizabeth resided with her husband, German Craighead in Trigg Co, KY. Their sister Kezziah HIGH married Abner C. Perkins and they resided in Cerulean, KY. Alsey, Rufus, Woodson, Stephen HIGH also lived in this area. An Isom in Wayne Co., Thomas(?) in Henry Co.? Does anyone have a HIGH Family they would care to Share? Am also looking for All HIGH Families in KY, who were descended from the above John HIGH, and his son John HIGH of NC.

They married in 1828, in Henry Co., KY, and their first child, Zadoc MASON, was born there in 1829; subsequently, the couple had at least 4 more children, all girls. Need any info on William PRINGLE and his wife Elizabeth SHOFNER. They were married in Green County, Ky on December 29th, 1803. I would like to know if this William PRINGLE is related to John PRINGLE of Jefferson, Nelson, and Mercer counties Kentucky. Is he related to James PRINGLE of Henry County, Kentucky? Is it possible that all of the PRINGLES in Kentucky in 1800 were descendants of John PRINGLE of West Virginia and south branch of the Potomac River?

Va. pen. 1939 KY DAR Yrbk 146 From "Kentucky Court and Other Records", Nicholas SMITH is listed as having six brothers and four sisters: Peter, Martin, Mike, John, Manuel, George, Catherine, Betsey, Anne, and Amanda. On April 5, 1802, Nicholas SMITH bought 1320 acres of land on Otter Creek and Muddy River (Book F, p. 225); 1333 1/2 acres on Big Barren River (Book F., p. 227), and 1000 acres on Highland Creek (Book F., p. 227). I am looking for any record's pertaining to my gr.gr.gr.grandfather. His name was Layton WHEELER he was married to Betty CRIMM. They had 5 children. Josiah, born 6/20/1826, Lindy, born?, Martin, born?, Goodlow born?, Thomas born?. We believe the 4 we have no birth dates for were born between 1820-1825,were not sure. We believe they lived in Westport Ky., Oldham Co. in 1820, there about. But Oldham Co. was Est. 1823 from the counties of Henry, Jefferson, Shelby so we are searching all 4 counties. We are not sure of the spelling for Betty Crimm could have been Crim. We know that Josiah married Harriet Elizabeth GREEN and they are buried in New Market Indiana, Clark Co. 1863 and 1893.
