DOWNEY, FORD, HENDERSON, PAYTON, PENN, PEYTON posted by PJ Kuddes on Tuesday, February 23, 1999

I am searching for any information about my great great grandparents. Daniel Beauragard PENN (b: 3 Jan 1863 in Shelby Co.?? Kentucky - son of John PENN and Nancy HENDERSON) and Sophronia Jackson PEYTON/PAYTON (b: 18 May 1865 in Henry Co. Kentucky - daughter of Benjamin PEYTON and America DOWNEY of Henry Co.) The story told by my great grandmother states that they were bond servants when they met and were married (md. 1 nov 1885?) Where they were bond servants and married is unknown and unconfirmed, but it is thought to be out of state. When they returned to the PEYTON home in Henry co., Daniel was run off due to the families feuding. I assume they were divorced, though I've not found proof, because Sophronia remarried - Hugh Rodman FORD, a few years later. I'm looking for any information that might prove or disprove the stories, dates, etc. Anything that might give me a clue as to where to look.
